Roles & Responsibilities

Below are the Roles & Responsibilities –

  • Help a variety of self-managed and GitLab.com (SaaS) clients by resolving their problems using email, video conferencing, merge requests, and Zendesk tickets.
  • Work together with our Product, Development, Infrastructure, Customer Success, and Sales Teams to create new features, address issues, and establish and mold the roadmap, priorities, strategy, and goals for the product.
  • Documentation should be created and updated based on customer encounters.
  • Work together with other GitLab team members (for instance, as a Support Stable Counterpart) and Support team members (via Pairing Sessions).
  • Engage in regular rotations for on-call coverage during the week and on weekends (daytime only), offering our SaaS and self-managed customers emergency help, or coordinating crisis communications with our SaaS production team.
  • Examine applications and tests, and take part in interviews as part of our employment procedures.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Below are the Required Skills & Qualifications –

  • Strong Linux systems administration skills (LFCE or RHCE equivalent knowledge).
  • Excellent experience and enthusiasm for handling customer-facing cases across the whole support lifecycle, from initial customer inquiry to triage and reproduction, writing bug reports to be forwarded to the development team, and case resolution.
  • Proficiency in MVC frameworks (ideally Ruby on Rails) and scripting languages (ideally Ruby or Bash).
  • Knowledge of CI/CD and Git.
  • Proficiency in creating support materials Capacity to explain intricate technical subjects to clients and colleagues with different technical skill levels.
  • Knowledge of DevOps techniques and tools, such as Kubernetes and Serverless.
  • Recognize various GitLab implementations and the effects that service outages have on customers.
