Roles & Responsibilities

  • We are seeking self-starters, quick learners, and software engineers who thrive in a demanding, fast-paced work environment.   • Utilising our expertise in problem determination (PD) and problem source identification (PSI) to offer our clients remote technical support assistance.

  • Our engineers not only identify solutions for problems but also present action plans to our clients to make sure they are happy with the efforts taken to address the problem or identify its underlying cause.
  • Our engineers constantly demonstrate their technological prowess by driving problem-solving through enhancements to current and/or new technical support tools and procedures.   • This role is intended for those seeking to become Technical Support Engineers. Selected candidates will work as a global team within IBM Automation to diagnose and fix issues related to appliance hardware, software, and firmware across numerous operating systems, virtual machines, and cloud environments.
  • The ability to lead the diagnosis of critical customer problems requires a willingness to work on a weekend rotation.

Required Skills

  • Linux, UNIX, and distributed operating systems
  • Familiarity with public or private clouds, as well as with software and infrastructure
  • Familiarity with IBM Storage technology, such as FS900 and V7000
  • Knowledge of Networking
  • Compute, Virtual Machines (VMs) – VMware, KVM
  • Practical understanding of database systems
  • The capacity to troubleshoot problems and determine their underlying causes
  • Proficiency in English, including reading, writing, and speaking
