Roles & Responsibilities
- Design & Development: Create, test, build, and manage scalable and reliable backend systems.
- Database management involves creating and implementing database systems with top performance and data integrity in mind.
- API Integration: To improve the functionality of the applications, integrate third-party online services and APIs.
- Code Optimisation: To improve efficiency, locate and fix performance bottlenecks and optimise the code.
- Collaboration: To produce high-caliber software solutions, work in tandem with cross-functional teams made up of front-end engineers, designers, and product managers.
- Troubleshooting: Quickly identify and fix bugs, issues, and other technical concerns.
- Documentation: For the systems that have been developed, produce and keep up technical documentation.

Required Skills
- Knowledgeable in at least one backend programming language, such as Node.js, Python, or Java.
- Database management: An understanding of relational databases, such as PostgreSQL and MySQL, and/or NoSQL databases, such as MongoDB.
- Strong grasp of RESTful API design and development is required for API development.
- Version Control: Skilled in the application of Git version control.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of cloud computing, including familiarity with AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.
- Containerisation: Working knowledge of tools such as Docker for containerisation.
- DevOps practices: familiarity with infrastructure as code and CI/CD pipelines.
- Understanding and expertise in creating microservices is required for microservices architecture.
- Frontend Technologies: A basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript are among the front end technologies.
