Roles & Responsibilities

  • Make sure that corporate policies and industry best practices are followed when maintaining the data universe.
  • Handle price-related data sets and reference data (stock, company, and exchange information); promptly review and address exceptions in QA processes in accordance with operational protocols and S&P Dow Jones Indices’ Policies & Practices – Methodology.
  • Make sure that details about shares and free float are investigated, verified, and added to our database, and that any necessary supporting documentation is saved.
  • Set aside time for data-related projects to enhance systems, procedures, and data quality for the given data set.
  • Examine and address any customer requests (internal or external) pertaining to data within SLAs.
  • Maintain proactive management of customer escalations, issues, and other things that need special treatment by collaborating with your direct manager and the leadership team.
  • Verify pricing that the system captured. Must compare recorded pricing with various sources and research, and under time constraints, address any differences
    When necessary, proactively bring up any concerns with the Team Lead and the other members of the team.
  • To guarantee a smooth transition from one region to the next, there should be clear coordination and communication with other team members and worldwide teams regarding overlapping tasks.
  • Preserve customer focus by taking into account how changes to indexes will affect your clients and by promptly and clearly informing other affected teams of any changes.
  • Respond to client inquiries in a timely, thorough, and accurate manner. When necessary, collaborate with our client experience team.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree, ideally in computer science, economics, finance, or data management.
  • 0–2 years of relevant experience, an open mind, flexibility, and the capacity to adjust to shifting priorities.
  • It is necessary to speak and write English fluently. Additional language proficiency would be advantageous.
  • A solid grasp of the financial markets.
  • Must be able to operate both independently and collaboratively in a global team setting; Must be able to exhibit excellent quantitative and analytical skills.
  • It would be advantageous to have knowledge of shares, free float, shareholding structure, company filings and related paperwork, and possible effects on indexes.
  • Outstanding proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other common office applications.
  • Experience and aptitude for programming, ideally in Python, VBA, or SQL, would be a plus.
